SeaPort Petroleum was founded as Collins Oil Co. in 1954 by Burt Collins as a Texaco Jobber in Portland Oregon. In 1970, Howard Thomas purchased Collins Oil Co. from the Collins family and started growing the company. Then in 1982 Collins Oil Co. purchased Seattle Based Huff Petroleum from Frank Huff. The operating name of SeaPort Petroleum was born to reflect the tie between Seattle and Portland and our commitment to the Northwest Market. During this time then President stepped down and transferred the role of President and CEO to Randall Thomas.

During the period of 1980 through 1990 the company has developed strengths in the technical and electronic aspects of the business, from engineering support services to e-commerce. SeaPort was first to take on-site fleet fueling into the electronic age, capturing the fueling data electronically and being able to provide that data to the customer as they needed.

In 2008 Randall Thomas relinquished the role of President to Travis Paulson, who has led the company through double digit growth through one of the worst recessions in recent history. On November 1st, 2010, the operating company Seaport Petroleum merged with Powell Christensen in order to provide a state wide footprint and leverage our purchasing power. Travis Paulson maintains the role of President and is focused on continuing Seaport Petroleum’s growth and exceeding customer expectations. Seaport Petroleum’s goal is to be your fuel and lubricant solution provider.

SeaPort Petroleum and subsidary SeaPort Biofuels can supply your biodiesel needs. We have continued to build strategic relationships, with companies such as General Biodiesel and Propel to provide the lowest carbon footprint biofuel in the state of Washington. In addition to biofuels we also carry the full line of Renewable Lubricants, which are hold the title of "Ultimately Biodegradable", that outperform most synthetics.
